Speaking of knitting, I'm so happy to finally share my latest project with you! This was my first cardigan, and it's for a very special little one who's scheduled to arrive right around Christmastime - I can't wait to meet this little baby!
This pattern is the Annabel Babe Cardigan by Carrie Bostick Hoge - a perfect simple garter stitch cardigan with raglan shaping that was just the right level of challenge for me at this point. My friend and her husband decided not to find out the sex of the baby before it arrives, so I wanted something that would work equally well for a girl or a boy and this is perfect! I used a robin's egg blue yarn and leather buttons for a hint of vintage.
The garter stitch is so cushy and warm! Sewing the buttons on took me almost as long as knitting the entire rest of the sweater, but it's so worth it after seeing the finished project!
And, because I couldn't help it, here's the sweater with a mini version of The Very Hungry Caterpillar! Cuteness overload - just wait 'till the little one is big enough to wear it!
