in progress / Magnolia hat

I finally finished a hat that fits my head! Hooray! I thought it deserved its own post - haha...  My first attempt at this hat was with some leftover yarn that I was "eh" about, but after that version turned out to be too big, I frogged another project that I hadn't touched in almost a year and used that yarn along with  a pair of circular needles two sizes smaller than the pattern called for.
I'm really happy with how it turned out - the only things I would change were to go down another size of needle yet for the ribbing to make it a bit tighter and to try making the crown a bit cleaner - my knitting on dpns is kind of messy - ha!  It's a nice, close fitting beanie type hat which I like more than the super slouchy hat look.

I would definitely recommend this pattern - it's pretty, fast and easy to follow.  My pattern notes are over on my Ravelry project page!  And now I'm starting another Gentian hat since I had the same problem (turning out too big) with my first attempt at this pattern...
