handmade / Color Block Cowl

And now for something completely different from my post earlier this week! :)  Here's the super easy pattern I made up for the color block cowl that was in my shop last month - if you're new to knitting or just want some instant (almost!) knitting gratification this is a great pattern that gives you one soft piece of neckwear!

2 skeins of Loops & Threads Cozy Wool brand yarn (available at Michaels) in different colors / any other chunky weight yarn would also work for this project
1 pair of size 13 needles

Cast on 16 stitches with your first chosen color of yarn.  Continue to knit all rows in garter stitch (knitting every row) until your first skein of yarn is used up.  Switch to your second color yarn and continue in garter stitch.  Bind off when you have 2-3 feet of your second color yarn left.  Use the leftover tail to whipstitch the ends of your scarf together.  Weave in ends and wear proudly!

ps. You can also link up and view this pattern on Ravelry if you're a user (or become a new user!)

  1. I love this cowl, Liz! I may have to try my hand at knitting again...I've only ever completed one knitting project! Haha.

  2. I think you should Mariel! ;) it's seriously so easy - a good way to "get your feet wet" in knitting again!
