The Grateful Project / family + friends

Every year around this time, it feels like Thanksgiving get completely skipped over.  Holiday shopping ads are all over the place, stores now open Thanksgiving night for Black Friday, and Christmas music is already playing!  This is a little sad because I love Thanksgiving - it's more laid back than Christmas and there's lot of delicious food involved and I think it's a really good thing when we stop, look around, and realize how much we have to be grateful for!  Which is where this little project comes in - as a kind of Thanksgiving "advent", I'm going to share & write a little about something I'm grateful for each day this week leading up to Thanksgiving!  I'm doing this more as a way to remind myself of all the blessings in my life, but hopefully it makes you think of blessings in your own life as well.

Heaven knows my family isn't perfect, but they're mine.  I can be completely myself and they still love and accept me - and I try to do the same for them!  Friends are a huge blessing in my life as well - friends that have come into my life during different stages as well as some who have been there all along.  I have three really close friends that have been constant life companions. Two I've known since elementary school and one I met in college.  Unfortunately none of us live in the same city which makes me sad ;) but it makes time together that much more precious.  I know that the only reason these women have been such a big part in my life is because God put them there - we are sisters in Christ and because of that "heart connection" we can pick up right where we left off whenever we see each other even though I can probably count on my hands the number of times a year that happens!  I'm so thankful for these heart friends God has given me, and I hope I won't ever take them (or my family) for granted...

Who are you thankful to have in your life??
