The Grateful Project / books + reading

This little series of posts is me saying, Hey world, Christmas isn't here yet - Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday!  I'm sharing something I'm grateful for every day through Thanksgiving in the hopes that maybe it will remind you of the blessings in your own life!

Maybe it seems funny for me say that I'm thankful for books and reading, but they are a huge part of my life and I love it!  I've loved reading my whole life, and the library was a fun, wonderful place for me growing up. I only lived two blocks away from my local library growing up and finding a new book I hadn't read at the was like hitting the jackpot!  Eventually the librarians asked if I wanted a job and I worked as a page (putting books away) in middle and high school.  In college I worked at the campus library all four years, and library school was kind of a no-brainer after getting my undergrad degree.  I've been working as a children's librarian for just over three years now and I'm so grateful to have a job that I really, really like (on most days!).  I've had jobs that I really didn't like and doing something every day that I feel passionately about makes a world of difference.  Sharing my love of books and reading and being able to show kids that the library is a fun and exciting place to come is so rewarding and uses my creativity, patience, and grace on a daily basis! :)
