inspiration / sewing patterns

I have a love/hate relationship with sewing clothes...you put all kinds of work into a piece and then something inevitably doesn't seem to fit right at the end.  My goal this fall is to change that!  I've been so inspired (as evidenced by my new Pinterest board - haha!) by seeing Melissa Esplin's "Draw It Sew It" series on her blog, ISLY and by the new-to-me Four Square Walls written by Andrea.  This girl sews like crazy - I love it!  Anyway, seeing all of this great sewing going on inspired me to reintroduce myself to my sewing machine - ha!  I tried this cute project over the weekend and purchased this cute shirt pattern to try.  I'd love to eventually make a dress to wear to a wedding I have in October - and I've been admiring these patterns in particular:

On the left is the Ava Dress from Victory Patterns and on the right is the Cambie Dress from Sewaholic, made in this photo by Andrea from Four Square Walls.  I'm not sure which one would be easier, but maybe I'll have to try both! ;)
