the book pile / fall reads

With colder weather coming around, I love curling up with a good book & a cup of tea or coffee!  I've got so many books waiting around to be read, but there's a few I'm especially excited to get to this fall:

1. A Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling - I'm a huge fan of the Harry Potter series, and I'm really interested to read her writing for an adult audience...

2. So Pretty Crochet - More proof that crochet is totally hip; all the projects in this book are completely beautiful AND stylish :)

3. The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis - This one was recommended to me by a friend and since I already love the Chronicles of Narnia & the Screwtape Letters this seemed like a no brainer!

4. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien - I did read this one a few years ago, but I want to revisit it before the movie comes out in December!

Anything you're dying to read lately? Or if you've read any of these, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

  1. 1. Please say something when you finish The Casual Vacancy! I've only heard one thing about it - that someone heard through someone else that it was bad. But that was one vague review and I'm dying to know how it is!

    3. I love this one.

    4. I cannot wait for the movie! I basically start hyperventilating whenever I think about it. (I'm not weird or anything). I need to re-read it, too, as soon as I finish the books I've started.

As far as other books I can't wait to read...I think the one I'm most excited about is Lemony Snicket's new book, Who Could That Be At This Hour?

  2. oooh I'm excited about the new Lemony Snicket too!! i've been seeing it in all our review journals at work - i'll definitely let you know what I think about A Casual Vacancy - I've heard it was bad from a co-worker too but I still want to at least give it a shot! also, i'm really glad you're as excited as I am for the Hobbit! :)
